Hello friends!
I’m Uttama Surve, a 14-year-old coordinator of the ๐ Uttama Child Protection Awareness Program and Protection Organization, I believe every child has the right to grow up in a safe, supportive environment.
With guidance from my father, Aniruddha Surve, a committed ๐จ⚖️ Para-Legal Volunteer (PLV), I work to build awareness and create a strong network of protection stakeholders across communities through the ๐ Uttama Child Protection Awareness Program and Protection Organization.
⚖️ Legal Framework for Child Protection
India has strong laws to protect children from exploitation and abuse. Some key acts include:
๐ Juvenile Justice Act, 2015
๐ถ Focuses on care and protection for children in conflict with the law or in need of care.
๐ก️ POCSO Act, 2012
๐ซ Protects children from sexual abuse and provides child-friendly procedures.
๐ Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, 2006
Stops child marriage and supports victims.
๐ท Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act, 1986 (amended 2016)
Prevents employment of children under 14 and protects working adolescents.

๐จ Persistent Challenges Children Still Face
Despite these laws, many children continue to suffer due to:
๐ด Violence & abuse at home, school, or workplaces
๐ด Child marriage – 1 in 4 girls are married before 18
๐ด Child labour, especially in rural and informal sectors
๐ด Online exploitation & ๐พ cyberbullying
๐ข Many of these cases go unreported due to fear, social pressure, and lack of knowledge.

India’s 24x7 helpline for children in need.
๐ Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS)
Provides nutrition, healthcare, and preschool education for children under 6.
๐ Anganwadi Centres
Offer health, nutrition, and basic education in rural areas.

Founded by Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi, working to end child labour and trafficking.
