Today is Tuesday, and it's time to learn about our laws and rights.
Let’s understand one very important law: The Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection of Children) Act, 2015, also known as the JJ Act.

📘 What is the JJ Act?

The JJ Act is a special law made to protect children in India. It talks about two main groups of children:

1. 👮 Children in conflict with the law – These are children who may have done something against the law.

2. 🆘 Children in need of care and protection – These are children who are lost, abandoned, abused, or not being taken care of properly.

🛡️ What Does the JJ Act Do for Child Safety?

Here are some child-friendly protections the JJ Act gives:

✅ 1. Protects children from abuse and neglect

If a child is being harmed at home or outside, the law can take action to rescue and help them.

✅ 2. No jail for children — only care and guidance

Children who make mistakes are not treated like criminals. They are sent to Observation Homes or Reform Homes to learn and grow.

✅ 3. Child Welfare Committees (CWCs)

Every district has a CWC, which helps children in trouble and finds safe places for them.

✅ 4. Child-friendly procedures

Police and other officers must treat children with kindness, care, and respect — no shouting, hitting, or scaring.

✅ 5. No child should be in prison

Children must be kept in child-friendly homes with food, education, and love — not in jails with adults.

• If someone sees a child being hurt, they must report it — it's a legal duty!
